on another note... the this year, next year... volunteer/classes...what do you hope to do in the states?
my .02... just do the immigration, get it over with
haha, yeah, I'm on first name terms with the guys at customs.

Actually I've always had about 10 weeks between coming over at the least, so that probably helps. And I'm not going to be here again for quite a while, at least I'm not planning to be.
What I want to do is be a coach, a soccer coach. At the moment I have a level 1 coaching certificate, but I have looked at jobs advertised both over here AND at home in the UK, and they ask for the level 2 coaching certificate. I can take that certificate with the FA (Football Association) at home, and that is what I said I hope to do in the summer. The reason I'm not doing it now is because I have NO experience of coaching, and part of the certificate involves going out and filling in a log book proving that you can coach people of all ages. I would also need to pass a trial coaching session at the end of the course. The pass rate for it is less than 50% This is why I want to volunteer first, so I can get involved just helping out at first, improve my confidence, start taking sessions myself and then stand a much better chance of actually passing and getting the level 2 certificate. What you have to understand is that I'm not the most confident of people, so to throw myself in at the deep end could wreck me completely! My sister was training to be a PE teacher, but ended up quitting, she lost her confidence basically and I could see the same happening to me.
Coming over here right now is not an option. My gf simply can't afford to support me, she's relying on alimony and savings until she improves her job. There's actually the possibility that I might be able to come over here on a work visa. Soccer camps here actually actively look for European coaches... I think our standards are higher. I've found a few camps and things over the internet that have been recruiting a lot of people from the UK for 2006 already. If I can't get a work visa then it's up to my gf to get a better job!!!!
So that's basically the story.
