I'm in Philadelphia!!!!!
Getting into the country wasn't THAT big a problem as it goes. When I checked in at Manchester, they commented on how long I was going for and said I might need to prove I could afford to 'support myself', which had me a little nervous because they were asking questions before I got on the plane. Then when I went through immigration in the US it went sooooooo smoothly and easily. The guy asked me who I was staying with, I said my girlfriend. He asked how we met, I told him. Then he asked me how long I was here for and when I said just over 2 months he asked how much money I had, so I told him. He didn't ask for any proof or anything, just accepted what I told him. Then he asked whether I worked, I said I just finished uni and he asked what I was going to do when I got home. I said I was enrolled on a course and looking at others, he didn't ask for proof of that either!!!!! We had a laugh and a joke about the weather (he's going to England in a couple of weeks and I told him just how much colder it is) and I was off. Really nice, happy guy for a change!
Then when I got my baggage they stopped me and asked me to go through a baggage check bit at customs, where the woman asked me all the same stuff but was commenting on me being nervous. I said that I hadn't seen my g/f in 2 months, which would explain it!!!!!!!! But she let me through without checking my luggage like they did with a few other people.
So, here I am, until October. And boy is it humid!!!!!!!
