First thing I said to myself when I found this site a couple of nights ago is why haven't I come across this place before?? Better late than never though right? I've read through a few of the forums and have found this place to be full of interesting and knowledgeable discussion and thought it was about time to get involved and introduce myself.
For starters I’m a 24 year old man from the Toronto area and have always been extremely attracted to, and have had the deepest connections with women that are older than me. I have had the privilege to have had been in a relationship with two older women over the last six years…and I say privilege here because it truly is a rare and incredible experience to be in a relationship where the other person can bring out the best in you and nurture powerful feelings within you that don’t diminish over time or in spite of the little curveballs life throws your way. It’s the kind of connection that has been impossible to find with a woman my age and one which I know that for me, can only be found with a mature woman. In both cases the age gap between us was significant (in the eyes of others that is) one being 43 while I was 19 and the other being 51 while I was 22 and though there was the normal anxiety that all of us sometimes feel about such an age gap, each of us already knew age means nothing and to prove it we have been able to split admitting that our relationships have been the most intense, meaningful and real of our lives. This is usually the part where the average person will jump in and say “you are still so young, how could you really know what a truly deep relationship feels like?”…as I’m sure the women on here that have a younger man, and the younger men themselves can attest to….age has nothing to do with being able to form a real connection and definitely has nothing to do with being able to recognize it as such. Anyway, this was supposed to be a short introduction right, so I’ll quit typing and say again that it’s really exciting to have found a place where there are tons of other people that feel the same way about the insignificance of age and have had deep relationships with others younger or older than themselves. I look forward to getting involved and hope its sooner rather than later that I can find the one I’m truly meant to be with.
